Dr. Marina Cortese

Dr. Marina Cortese is the founder of MoveMed RX, an integrative medical and wellness center built to help people heal, move, and thrive.
Blending neurofunctional acupuncture, integrative medicine, herbal therapy, and exercise science, Dr. Cortese creates personalized treatment plans for every stage of recovery. Her work focuses on bridging Eastern and Western medicine — combining the precision of clinical research with the adaptability of movement science.
Dr. Cortese holds dual master’s degrees in Exercise Science and Health Science, and a Doctorate in Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine. She is a Certified Medical Exercise Specialist, Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
As both a former athlete and gym owner, Dr. Cortese understands the physical and mental challenges of recovery firsthand. Her own healing journey led her to advanced training through Memorial Sloan Kettering, where she developed a proprietary protocol for AWS (axillary web syndrome) and lymphedema that blends acupuncture, manual therapy, and targeted exercise rehabilitation.
Her mission is to provide the kind of space she once needed herself — one that empowers people to heal deeply, recover stronger, and live with vitality.
